Speaker 0:

Hello everybody and welcome to this episode of the Permission to Love podcast. I'm your host, jerry Henderson, and, as always, I am so grateful that you're here Now. Today we're going to jump right into it, because this episode is going to be a little bit different. Why? Because today I want to talk to you about something that's been growing on my heart for a while a bit of a shift, and what it really is is an expansion of this podcast and the community that we've been building together. Now, first, I want to say thank you to all of you.

Speaker 0:

If you've been here for a while, you know that this space, this podcast, was born from a very deep place within me, the part of me that had to learn how to love myself again, or maybe what I should really say learn how to love myself for the first time Now, throughout this podcast journey over the last two years, we've talked about things like self-love, healing, shame, healing from trauma, healing our relationship with ourselves and then rewriting the stories that we inherited. We've held space for the real things, for the messy things, for the beautiful things, for the deeply human parts of us, and becoming whole and understanding that there's not anything wrong with us. There's never been anything wrong with us and that we can learn how to give ourselves the permission to love ourselves. And guess what? None of that is going anywhere. But something new is calling. It's calling to me and it's been calling to you as listeners, and I want to bring you with me on this journey together Now.

Speaker 0:

Over the past year, I've heard so many of you ask me for more, not just more episodes, but more depth, more tools, more real talk about how to thrive in every area of your life to thrive emotionally, spiritually, mentally and relationally. That request from you, that hunger, resonates also with something deeply in me that I've been feeling as well. Because here's the truth Self-love is absolutely essential, and it is also the beginning, it is the root system from which everything grows. You hear me say it all the time right, the most important relationship in our lives is the one that we have with ourselves, and when that relationship is healthy, everything else in our life gets better. It truly is the root system from which everything else grows, which then leads us to the truth, right, of what grows from that root as we get healthy. When we've built a relationship with ourselves that's healthy, what do you begin to build on top of that, as you've reclaimed your sense of self, your worth, you've had inner alignment and you're on a growth journey where you want more and more of learning how not just to survive but to thrive. And learning to love ourselves is that big transition point right when we can begin to give ourselves the permission to get out of survival mode and move into the mode of thriving.

Speaker 0:

And so all of that leads me to the transition, or the next chapter for this podcast, beginning May 4th, which is going to be almost two years to the date when we first started this podcast and started this journey together. We started the podcast on May, the 17th of 2023. So we're right there, at that threshold of almost two years, and beginning on that day, may 4th, we're going to transition the podcast to a new name. I wanted a name that captured what I've been hearing from many of you in your journey around how you want to learn to thrive in every area of your life. So the new name of the podcast is going to be Personal Mastery with Jerry Henderson, and of course, I had to throw my name on there so that you know it's me, it's us, it's still our journey together. Now I know that that sounds big and I know for me it brought up a lot of emotions as I thought about this transition, because this journey has not only been transformational for many of you, it's been transformational for me. It really has changed my life, as I've shared what has happened as a part of my story, my journey, my healing, and then beginning to see how many of you have been on that path and that journey together and how this podcast has served you on that path, and so it has become something that is a very dear expression not only of myself, but of you as well, as you've shared with me your comments as you've reached out through email or on Instagram, or you've shown up as your comments, as you've reached out through email or on Instagram, or you've shown up as a client in my coaching program. It has meant so much for me and I can't really understate how much it's meant for me, and when I say it has changed my life, that's not an exaggeration. It's made me more vulnerable, it's made me a better human, it's made me show up as my best, authentic self. Like who knew that starting a podcast could do so much in a person's life, in a community's life, and, as we continue to grow it, the impact that it's going to make in so many other people's lives as well.

Speaker 0:

So what is personal mastery? Well, personal mastery is about becoming the kind of person who can meet life from a position of thriving, of power, of peace, of purpose. It's about aligning your inner world so that your outer world becomes an honest reflection of who you truly are. It's about giving yourself that permission to live in authentic alignment. It's about giving yourself that permission to live an authentic alignment. It's about doing the work to build a life not from performance but from presence, not from ego but from truth. It's not about perfection, it's about integrity. It's not about grinding to be more. It's about becoming more of you to be more. It's about becoming more of you. So, everything you've loved about this podcast, the reason that you're here, whether it's the focus of learning how to heal from trauma and overcome shame and get a healthy relationship with ourselves and self-love, self-acceptance, self-compassion all of that is still here and all of that is the foundation that we're now expanding on.

Speaker 0:

I talk often about self-expansion, and personal mastery is about self self-expansion, and that's what we're going to continue to focus on, because that's what I think of when I think about personal mastery or self-mastery, I think about all of those things and then allowing that right to flourish in our life. It's about mindset, it's about resilience, it's about alignment internally. It's about building healthy, thriving, life-giving relationships, including the one that we have with ourselves. It's about presence, authentic presence, and living within the present moment of experiencing the life that we have, learning to fall in love with it and share it with other people. It's about purpose, our soul's calling right To have meaning, to have fulfillment, to make a difference in this life, to leave a legacy, to have impact. It's about taking the story that we have and continuing to see something beautiful emerge from it, and then also adding some really practical skills and tools in that space to help you, as a listener, continue to thrive. So what can you expect over the next few weeks as we make this transition? Well, in the upcoming episodes, we're going to be talking about how to master your mindset and your emotional patterns, building emotional resilience, emotional regulation, emotional intelligence, how to build resilience in uncertain times, how to live with presence, as I shared, with alignment with soul, and how to embody the fullest version of yourself in your personal life, in your relationships, in love, in business and in your life holistically.

Speaker 0:

So, whether you're a high achiever who feels misaligned you've achieved success but it feels empty or you're struggling with things like imposter syndrome, or you're still trying to heal your motivations. That may be rooted in shame, may be rooted in not feeling like you're enough and so it's causing you to burn out. Or you're pushing yourself so much that it's burning through your relationships or your health or whatever it is. Or whether you're a person who's on a journey, who's trying to find clarity around your life and what's next. As you're on this healing journey, understanding that you don't want to stay stuck. You don't want to stay where you are, but you need the practical tools right. You're not drawn to high performance coaching because that maybe feels like a grind to you or it hasn't really helped you with all the mindset tricks, etc. Or you have found that therapy, while it's been good, hasn't helped you figure out how to move forward, how to walk towards your future.

Speaker 0:

Well, this podcast and our next chapters is going to be a mix of that. How can you succeed? How can you thrive? How you can grow and achieve and do the things that you want to do, and do them from a place of health and, at the same time, dealing with the psychological roots, dealing with the stories and the narratives that trip us up, and learning to heal all of that. So the vision really is a combination of not having to give up on all the things that we want to do with our life because we feel like that's become a grind and maybe it's burned us out or we've even got burned out on a healing journey and trying to grow. So we want to hold space for all of that right, knowing that we have so much potential, so much growth that we can do such an impact that we can make on this planet, but doing it from a healthy place, doing it from a life-giving place that is aligned with who you are, and also combined with evidence-based strategies, practices, resources that are rooted in psychology, rooted in the research around human behavior and what actually causes us to change.

Speaker 0:

So all of that is the vision for this podcast as we begin to move forward and I hope that you're as excited about it as I am and, if you are, this podcast is going to continue to be a safe place for you to show up, to learn, to grow and become the very best version of who you want to be in this life, to create the life that you know, that you want, that you believe and you know that you're worthy of. Now, practically if you're subscribed or you're following this podcast, don't worry, nothing's going to change on your end. You're just going to notice that the title changes, the thumbnail changes and the content will begin to expand into some of these other topics about whole life thriving on personal mastery, and over the next few weeks, you're going to continue to hear me talk about this transition. Some announcements on it, right, because I want every listener to get the opportunity to hear about this transition before it goes live on May 4th. I'll also be sharing more about this transition through my newsletter, on my social media outlets, and so you can see some of that as well, so you'll be hearing about it pretty regularly from me over the next few weeks.

Speaker 0:

Now, the other thing that you're going to start hearing more about from me is around a new framework that I've developed, called the Personal Mastery Framework. It's a coaching program or a coaching framework that's built on six pillars. The first one is mindset, or the psychology of happiness and success. The second one is resilience, or the science of emotional mastery. The third one is presence, developing the ability to be present, or the science of emotional mastery. The third one is presence, developing the ability to be present, or the art of being able to live fully. Fourth one alignment, or that path to authentic living where our external world is aligned with what we feel internally. Fifth one connection, or the gift of belonging, to reconnect with others around us, starting with ourselves. And then the sixth pillar purpose, or the soul's calling how to live a life of legacy, meaning, fulfillment and impact.

Speaker 0:

A lot of the things that I've talked about in this podcast episode already. And this framework it's very intentional, it's research-backed, evidence-based in psychology, human behavior theory, neuroscience. It's about how can you create sustainable success because, as I've shared with many of you right where trauma actually will birth a high achiever or birth our desire to want to accomplish things in life or overcome this feeling that there's something wrong with us. But trauma also can rob us of thriving resilience. We have survival resilience, but we don't have thriving resilience, and so this program, very intentional, as I mentioned before, you know, a lot of coaching in the high performance space is about helping you succeed. Space is about helping you succeed, and therapy is about helping you heal.

Speaker 0:

This framework is designed to do both, and it's built on and comes through all of the work that I've been doing at Harvard University and, if I could sum it up, it really is about healing and creating the life that feels as good on the inside as it starts to look on the outside, or as it does look on the outside. Right, you know my story. My outward life looked like I had it all together, but inwardly I was falling apart, and so this coaching program is for those of you who've said you know what I want to build a life where I'm thriving, and I need some tools to do that, and I also need the tools to heal. I need strategies to know how to figure out, how to build that life that I want. Or you're also saying, hey, I've built that life, but I'm finding that I'm struggling with things internally, that success doesn't feel like success. Right, I thought success was going to make me somebody or make me feel whole, or success or achievements were going to heal me, and it didn't. This framework is designed specifically to address those topics, and so it is a unique positioning that I've not found anywhere else, and it's one of the things that I wish I would have had years ago in my journey to combine the two things together. So it really does meet a very unique gap that's missing. All the research that I've done, everything I've looked at, this gap is out there. It's not being met, and so it's why I created the Personal Mastery Framework. So this program is for the person who wants more than just results, who wants to feel grounded, confident and deeply aligned in your work, your relationships and your entire life. So if you're ready to stop chasing and you want to start becoming, then go to my website at jerryhendersonorg. You can learn all about the program full redesign of the website that's centered around this new framework. And, while you're there, if you want to go deeper, you can set up a free strategy. Call, we'll talk, we'll get real and we'll see if this is the next right step for you on your journey.
